SDIC instant technology solves water maintenance problems
2025-06-20
Sodium dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC) is becoming a new choice for efficient disinfection in the water treatment industry. This white granular agent with an effective chlorine content of 60% completely dissolves in water within 2.5 minutes, which is more than 5 times faster than traditional chlorine preparations, and can quickly establish a residual chlorine concentration of 0.5 mg/L.
The sodium ions in its molecular structure give it a unique advantage: the pH value of a 1% solution is stable in the neutral range of 6.8, and the corrosiveness to metal equipment is reduced to one-seventh of conventional chlorine disinfection. The decomposition products are only food-grade cyanuric acid and salt, and it has passed the EU ECHA Class A safety certification.
In the field of municipal water supply, SDIC achieves full-process protection of single-point addition, and the residual chlorine retention rate at the end of the pipeline network is increased to more than 85%, while simultaneously reducing the generation of carcinogenic byproducts such as trihalomethanes by 76%.
In swimming pool applications, safe swimming standards can be reached in 30 minutes, and combined with intelligent systems, it can accurately respond to passenger flow fluctuations. With the implementation of the new GB5749-2025 standard, its heavy metal blocking ability (lead and cadmium removal rate of 98.7%) and drug-resistant bacteria inactivation efficiency (Legionella pneumophila killing rate increased by 5.8 times) are more valuable.
New technologies such as microcapsule sustained release are driving SDIC to evolve towards long-term energy saving, and it is expected to cover 60% of the country's water supply systems by 2030.
